Reusable Advent Calendar

Reusable Advent Calendar | Snowdrop and Company
Even though December is less than one week away (I still can't believe it!) you have plenty of time to whip up this simple reusable advent calendar. All you need is an expandable wooden coat rack from the dollar store, some wrapping paper scraps, ribbon, and your treats. As an added bonus, once you've eaten all your advent chocolate the coat rack is the perfect place to hang your stocking!

Supplies: Expandable wooden coat rack, paint, paint brush, wrapping paper scraps, assorted ribbon and cord, gift tags, tape, advent treats.
Instructions:
Step 1: Paint the wooden coat rack if desired. I painted mine white to better match my colour scheme.
Step 2: Let dry. Avoid blobbing a lot of paint around the joints - this way when the paint dries it won't prevent the coat rack from expanding.

Step 3: Now the fun part: wrap your advent treats with the wrapping paper scraps! Make sure each package has a gift tag to assign it a date. Tape a ribbon/cord loop to the back of the package so that it can hang on the coat rack. Try to make the loops different lengths so that they aren't all bunched together when hanging.

Step 4: Hang your coat rack on the wall and then hang the packages from the hooks.

After all the candy is eaten, isn't it the perfect place to hang your stocking? You can even leave the coat rack up all year!
